Job Description
The ROLE
The Macquarie Wharf 6 Redevelopment is a transformative project designed to modernise Hobart’s port infrastructure, expand capacity for Antarctic and commercial operations, and deliver lasting economic and community benefits for Tasmania.
The project will provide upgraded berthing, shore power, and enhanced facilities to support larger vessels and future growth, positioning Hobart as a leading gateway to the Antarctic and Southern Ocean.
This role is part of The Hazell Brady Joint Venture (HBJV), dedicated to delivering the MAC 6 Wharf Redevelopment with a strong commitment to maximizing benefits for Tasmania.
As part of the project team, you will be directly involved in overseeing elements of the project scope, which includes:
Design development and finalisation through to approved construction.
Demolition and deconstruction of the existing wharf and ro-ro ramps.
Construction of new wharf and ancillary items, including piling, structural concrete and ships services.
This is a unique opportunity for major marine infrastructure works in Hobart.

Desired Skills and Experience
About YOU
Must haves
Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or Bachelor of Engineering (Maritime) or equivalent.
5+ years relevant experience in civil/marine construction industry including minimum 2 years at Project Engineer level or higher.
Drivers licence.
Construction Industry White Card.
Current Australian Working Rights and located in Australia.
Experience delivering packages or projects over $5 million in value.
Desirable
Marine Civil Structures experience.
Design and construct project project delivery experience.
Key Skills
Excellent team leadership ability.
Excellent time management, prioritisation and self-management.
Excellent competency in project delivery and financial reporting.
Ability to write, understand, implement and audit Project Management Plans and Specifications.
Exceptional numeracy and computer literarcy and a thorough understanding of contract administration, procurement and subcontracting principles.
Ability to effectively communicate to and manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders demonstrating excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to continually challenge assumptions and methods and recommend initiatives.
Essential Knowledge
Comprehensive knowledge of Safety, Quality and Environmental standards and practices.
Extensive knowledge of civil engineering principals to maximise sustainability and safety while minimising defects.
Extensive knowledge of Government specifications, Australian standards, contract administration, procurement and subcontracting principles.
Highly developed communication skills both written and verbal to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues and management.
