Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Quarry Manager, the Long Hill Maintenance Person  will take ownership of all maintenance activities.  Driving a proactive, planned‑maintenance approach, this role is a mix of hands on and proactive analytical planning, providing skilled expertise and act as a key point of contact between operations, internal support teams, and external suppliers and contractors.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead, coordinate, and participate in planned and breakdown maintenance of fixed plant, crushing, screening, and conveying equipment
  • Supervise and support maintenance personnel, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required standards
  • Plan and prioritise shutdown maintenance activities to minimise downtime and support production targets
  • Act as the primary liaison between operations, internal support functions, and external suppliers and contractors, ensuring clear communication on scope, timelines, costs, and site requirements
  • Assist with sourcing parts and services by providing accurate information for quotes, including labour, materials, and resource requirements
  • Manage monthly stocktakes and oversee inventory control of maintenance spares and consumables
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, reduce unplanned outages, and streamline maintenance processes
  • Ensure compliance with safety systems and work practices that eliminate injuries, rework, plant damage, lost time, material waste, and unnecessary operational costs
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and equipment records, including servicing history, repairs, and compliance documentation

About YOU

 

  • Commitment to our Safety 1st Always Works culture​
  • Relevant Trade qualification - Certificate III ​
  • Current Drivers Licence (manual preferred) - Heavy Vehicle Licence (desirable)​
  • Experience in Fitting and Welding (desirable)​
  • Proven experience in the maintenance of fixed plant, including crushing, screening, conveying, and associated infrastructure
  • Fitting and welding experience desirable, with the ability to diagnose faults and implement practical solutions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also effectively collaborating within a team​
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate between operations, internal support teams, and external suppliers and contractors
  • Accurate record keeping and sound administrative skills, including maintenance documentation, inventory control, and supplier interactions
