Job Description

As a HSE Advisor you will be required to work closely with key stakeholders that have HSEQ involvement in the projects that you are assigned. Your responsibilities will include the following:

The ROLE

  • Ensures project teams are adequately trained to perform HSEQ responsibilities and provide ongoing coaching to ensure total compliance with internal systems and legislative requirements.
  • Supports the Project Manager & Project Teams in the implementation of the Hazell Bros Integrated Management System.
  • Influences a positive attitude and commitment towards safety across the business.
  • Drives a Safety 1st Always Works culture through positive engagement and coaching with all Key Stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Experience

About YOU 

Must haves 

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety or equivalent competence.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships and collaboration with all internal and external customers.
  • Recent experience in a HSE role within the Civil Construction Industry or similar. 
  • A clear understanding of project specific contract HSE requirements.
  • Experience with Environmental Controls and Compliance.
  • Construction Industry White Card.
  • Abililty to understand, write and implement Project Management Plan(s) and Specifications.
  • Current Drivers licence.
  • Full working rights in Australia.

Desirables 

  • Current First Aid certification.
  • A qualification in AOD testing will be highly regarded.
  • Exposure to return-to-work programs and ICAM investigations.
  • A qualification in auditing, with demonstrated experience in developing and executing risk-based audits to identify control weaknesses and improve operational safety and efficiency.
