The ROLE

As a Qualified Mechanic onsite at Nyrstar Hobart, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing both the Clients and Hazell Bros Plant and Equipment.

Equipment: Komatsu Loader, Haul Trucks and Excavators, Hyster Forklifts, LV's, Kalmar Lift and Tow Equipment, Watercarts and Sweepers.

• Preventive maintenance & repairs to internal / external assets which includes servicing and breakdowns.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing of mechanical problems and testing of completed repairs.
• Working unsupervised and as part of a small team collaborating with other Tradespeople.
• Ability to complete accurate details on job sheets, timesheets and any other service requirements.
• Provide outstanding customer service and technical support on-site.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
• Participation in an on-call rotating roster is required.

About YOU 

• Current Driver's Licence.
• Trade Qualified as either a Light Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic or Mobile Plant Mechanic.
• Have a strong background servicing, repairing, and maintaining forklifts, trucks and or heavy machinery.
• Strong fault finding and diagnostics skills.
• Show a strong work ethic & high attention to detail. 
• Commitment to maintaining safe work practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
