We are seeking multiple dedicated professionals to assist with the successful delivery of project elements from conception to completion for the big pipeline of works in Tasmania expected over at least the next five years. The roles available are for both Project Engineer and Site Engineer levels of expertise. These roles are fulltime and ongoing.

Job Description

The ROLE

  • Assists with the estimating, planning and construction phases of the project.
  • Plans and supports onsite construction activities including providing direction as required.
  • Assists in the preparation of the construction and environmental method statements and other documentation as required in the project planning conditions as required.
  • Sets up project quality controls in accordance with Project Specifications.
  • Directs construction, operations, and maintenance activities at project site as required within area of responsibility.
  • Tracks daily production and costings, develops forecast cost to complete and measure performance against this for activity codes/budget within area of responsibility.
  • Assists Project Manager and site staff in evaluating third party designs and construction methods.
  • Ensures that all activities are completed in a safe and efficient way.
  • Any other duties or tasks as reasonably directed.

Desired Skills and Experience

About YOU 

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Australia in the civil construction industry (must have).
  • Road construction experience (highly desirable).
  • Overall understanding of civil engineering principals.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory governance, legislative requirements, codes of practice and compliance requirements.
  • Highly developed communication skills both written and verbal to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues and management.  
  • Sound understanding of Microsoft Office software.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to adapt to project needs.
  • Current full working rights in Australia (must have).

The role will be based out of the Launceston area with a requirement to travel around the state needed based on operational requirements. This includes living away during the week.
